test exemptions

You need to apply for a test exemption if you want to perform tests on additives that are not permitted in animal feedstuffs. You also need to apply for a test exemption for tests carried out on a dietetic feedstuff containing additives that are not permitted in animal feedstuff.

Animal feeds contain a large number of different ingredients. Most of these are feedstuffs that are commercially available without restriction.
However, some products may be processed only if they have been granted an EU permit. That is true of the products referred to above. A dossier is required in order to obtain a permit. It must contain, among other things, reports on various types of animal tests.
A test exemption is required in order to carry out these tests with a product (additive) that does not have a permit, as well as on premixes and animal feeds containing such additives.
