The date for the informational meeting on homeopathic veterinary medicines is now known. It will take place on Tuesday 16 July at 1:30 pm. This informational meeting is intended for present and future marking authorisation holders and will deal with the authorisation requirements.

April 3, 2013 - New regulations regarding homeopathic veterinary medicines enter into force

In the past, homeopathic veterinary medicines were exempted from authorisation by means of the “List of homeopathic veterinary medicines 1993”. This was a statistical list to which no variations or additions had been made since 1993. For this reason, the list was not continued under the Animals Act. This means that all homeopathic veterinary medicines on the market in the Netherlands will have to be authorised.

March 25, 2013 - Batch approval and Free Sales, digital application for WHO and GMP certificates via CESP

March 20, 2013 - Improvements in the search functions of the Database Veterinary Medicines on the MEB website

The Medicines Evaluation Board (MEB) has improved the search function on the information database of the MEB website with an expansion of the search fields. This is the first in a series of improvements and we are working on subsequent improvements to expand and improve on information disclosure.

January 16, 2013 - Animals Act enters into force on 1 January 2013

The Animals Act entered into force on 1 January 2013. The Animals Act is a framework legislation. This means that the act itself sets out a limited number of rules and also offers the option to arrange all sorts of matters about and for animals in General Administrative Measures (GAMs) and ministerial recommendations. Several of these new measures also entered into force on 1 January 2013.
