November 2, 2011 - Good Attendance at Information Day Veterinary Medicinal Products Unit
With 80 participants, the information day hosted by the Veterinary
Medicinal Products Unit on 1 November was a great success .
The theme for the morning was the use of veterinary antibiotics.
Nico Bondt from the LEI gave a presentation about the figures: the
MARAN report and the Esvac project of the EMA. Then CVO Christanne
Bruschke gave a clear presentation about the policy goals of the
Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation. Björn
Eussen from the Vetbase foundation then provided an insight into
VetCIS. This central database was developed so that veterinarians
can record the user data for veterinary medicines (including
antibiotics) in a simple and transparent manner.
In the afternoon, an overview of recent developments was
presented. Anne Marije Sparnaaij from the Ministry of Economic
Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation discussed the opportunities in
the framework of the top area Life Science & Health. Employees
of the MEB Agency/BD gave presentations about the state of affairs
concerning the European portal for digital submission, the
opportunities for scientific advice, pharmacovigilance,
work-sharing, the SPC project and the revision of the channelling
status.
As soon as we have permission from all the speakers, the
presentations will become available on our website.
