independence
A code of conduct has been created to ensure that the MEB
operates in an independent and impartial manner. It specifies that
employees and members of the MEB may not perform or be involved in
any functions or relationships outside the MEB that could impair
the MEB’s impartiality or independence.
MEB code of conduct
The Code of Conduct describes the
standards of behaviour which all members and employees of the MEB
must uphold when acting on the organisation's behalf. The Code of
Conduct ensures the integrity, independence and impartiality of the
MEB, its members and employees.
MEB employees are civil servants working for the Ministry of
Health, Welfare and Sport and perform a particular public role in
society. Failure of a civil servant to respect the rules of conduct
could undermine the confidence of citizens in the government. That
is why MEB staff are also required to behave in accordance with the
Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport's codes of conduct.
