April 17, 2012 - CHMP bids farewell to its chairman with a standing ovation

The CHMP, the scientific committee of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), in which the Medicines Evaluation Board (MEB) is represented, said goodbye to its chairman Dr Eric Abadie with great appreciation in London on 16 April 2012.

Since the establishment of the EMA Dr. Abadie has devoted himself in an exceptional manner, and in many different roles, to the independent, scientifically based and clinically relevant assessment and monitoring of medicinal products for European patients. With his departure a figurehead and role model in the registration of medicines disappears. The CHMP will select a new chairman in June 2012.
