July 1, 2010 - Rheumatologist and pharmacologist with European experience augment the Medicines Evaluation Board
Today the Medicines Evaluation Board appoints Prof. J.M.W. Hazes
and Dr. B.J. van Zwieten-Boot as its newest members. With the
arrival of these two new members, other expertises are added to the
spectrum of fields of knowledge covered by the Board.

June 3, 2010 - Annual Report 2009 available
The Dutch Medicines Evaluation Board has presented its Annual Report 2009
during the open day of the MEB on June 2nd. The theme
of this report is “the life cycle of a medicine is our care”.
This refers to the fact that development, assessment and
pharmacovigilance of medicines is a cyclical process.

May 10, 2010 - Truus Janse-de Hoog appointed as European DIA representative
Truus Janse-de Hoog has been appointed as European representative
for national medicines agencies with the Drug
Information Association (DIA) Board of Directors. Truus
Janse-de Hoog is a staff member with the Medicines Evaluation
Board.

April 7, 2010 - MEB at DIA EuroMeeting
A large number of speakers with ties to the MEB were involved in
the 22nd European meeting of the DIA in Monaco. The
annual conference of the Drug Information Association, a global
organisation in the field of biopharmaceutical medicines, provides
a stage where scientists, policy-makers, businesses and
organisations in the pharmaceutical field can draw attention to key
trends and new developments.

April 1, 2010 - Changes to the review committee
The MEB decided to change the makeup of the review committee during
its meeting of 28 January 2010. The review committee now consists
of: at least one MEB member, acting as chairman of the review
committee, the lawyer/deputy secretary and one MEB secretary.
